Chesterfield landfill are currently operating on regular schedules - Both locations (Southern and Northern) are now open 7 days/week from 7:00AM until 6:00PM - plan to arrive in time to offload and exit the facility before gate closes at 6:00 PM!
Cash, Credit and Debit Cards are the allowed methods of payment - however large denomination currency (over $50) and coins are not accepted at the convenience centers.

STARTING MARCH 3, 2025: The recycling area at the Northern Area Convenience Center 3200 Warbro Rd., Midlothian, VA 23112 is under construction. Follow the signs and use the entrance opposite Old Dominion Tire Services
for recycling services.

PRICING INFO:
Large denomination currency (over $50) and coins are not accepted at the convenience centers.
Appliances with Freon $15 fee per item (Air conditioner Dehumidifier, Freezer (remove all food waste), Refrigerator (remove all food waste)
Appliances without Freon $10 fee per item
Construction and Demolition Debris - one residential property per visit. Proof of Chesterfield residency required. One pickup truck load – $15. One pickup truck load with trailer load shorter than 10 feet – $30. No dedicated loads of asphalt and concrete.
Landfill facilities are for the use of Chesterfield residents

Frequently asked questions
1. I am a new resident of chesterfield and I need to throw some things away. I was told that my ID needs to show a Chesterfield Va address before I can use the landfill. My question is, can I use a piece of mail as proof of residency?
Yes - a utility bill or similar item showing a Chesterfield VA address residency is sufficient proof to use the landfill if your license has yet to be changed.
2. Can used diabetic needles be disposd at the convenience centers?
Yes, first place into a 2-liter bottle. Secure the lid with duct tape.

Free Mulch for Chesterfield Residents
Mulch is now loaded on Fridays from May 3 through September 6, 2024, between 8:00AM and 10:00AM at the Southern Area Convenience Center.
Mulch will not be loaded if it is raining or too wet.
